Old photographs

RF 280 looks exceptionally smart in this c1956 view, taken in River Street, Windsor, at the end of a long trip across South London from Gravesend. The conductor can’t be seen – perhaps he nipped off at Windsor garage or maybe hopped off for a packet of Woodbines

Although re-designated a Country Area bus in 1965, RF 280 could still occasionally be found on Green Line work in later years. On Sunday, 30th June 1968, RF280 was heading across Trafalgar Square bound for her home garage of Reigate on route 711.
