12/4/14 – London to Weybridge

RT75 road runs
12/4/14

The 75th anniversary of the RT was commemorated by a number of activities focussed on Ash Grove garage. The day started with a gathering of RTs at the garage.

Some of the vehicles operated in service between here and Central London, whilst some others went on a run out to Clapton and Leyton garages.

RT1777 (KYY 615) was dressed (unusually) as a trainer bus and looked every bit the part tucked away in Clapton garage

RTW178 was also present at Clapton – apparently this is where the owner collected the bus from when it came out of London Transport service in the 1960s

After all vehicles had returned to Ash Grove from both activities, a run took place down to Brooklands, where the London Bus Museum were holding an open day the following day.

RT1784 made a short stop on the road run to make sure the stationary BDJ 67 wasn’t suffering from a breakdown. All was fine!
