IMPORTANT - THE NEW ULEZ IS NOW IN OPERATION IN LONDON. THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED WHEN TIME PERMITS.
The London Low Emission Zone operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including weekends and public and Bank Holidays.
Historic vehicles, first taxed before 1973, are be exempt from payment. All other preserved vehicles will be subject to the standard payment arrangements.
All roads within Greater London, those at Heathrow and parts of the M1 and M4 are affected. However, the M25 is not included (even where it passes within the GLA boundary). Signs are provided at the boundary showing where it applies.
These arrangements will be replaced by the Ultra Low Emission Zone in 2020.
