Quainton Road
Bus Rally
27/5/19

This event regularly takes place on the late May Bank Holiday Monday at the Quainton Railway Centre. We took two vehicles to the 2019 event.

Our two entries for the event were RT1784 and RF453 in the theme of the 40th anniversary of the withdrawal of their respective types.

On the left, Lincolnshire 2378 (OVL 473) is a Bristol FS5G Lodekka with standard ECW bodywork of the time, whilst on the right is London Transport MCW Metrobus M1014 (A714 THV) new in 1984.

Recently restored GWR Modified Hall class 4-6-0 6989 Wightwick Hall was working one of the shuttle services, looking very smart indeed. It was built in the same year as RT1784’s body (1948) and finished service a year after RT1784 in 1964.

Immaculate GWR 94xx 0-6-0PT 9466 is looking for a new owner, apparently. A shame we don’t have deep pockets!
